PUNTA CASTAGNA – LIPARI(ME)
DIVE TYPE: AVERAGE DIFFICULTY MAXIMUM DEPTH: MIN. 10 MT / MAX.50 MT

The dive site is located takes place at the foot of the ancient pumice quarries of the island of Lipari, in an evocative setting characterized by a strong chromatic contrast due to the presence of a fine white sand – coming from the nearby quarry – that covers the whole seabed. The color contrast between the white of the sandy bottom and the green – due to the presence of algae – of the rocks is very suggestive. From a plateau at about 8 meters depth, wide and deep gullies head in the direction of the open sea. Their walls are colored with large red sea fans and – at a depth of about 60 m – by small branches of red coral. On the other hand, the whole path that takes place between 15 and 40 meters deep is characterized by a lunar landscape that hosts shoals of barracudas, golden groupers and a fauna rich in species such as lobsters, scorpion fish, large pentagon starfishes, octopus and musdee. You will have the feeling to climb the island while diving.
